Delhi Summer Adventure

  1. Day 1: Visit to the Red Fort

    The Red Fort, also known as Lal Qila, is a historic fort in the city of Delhi. This UNESCO World Heritage site was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1648. Spend your morning exploring the fort and learning about its rich history. In the afternoon, take a stroll through the lush gardens of the fort and enjoy a picnic lunch with a view. In the evening, attend the sound and light show at the fort which is a beautiful display of the fort's history. This is a must-visit place when in Delhi!

  2. Day 2: Lotus Temple and Qutub Minar
    35 minutes (16 km) from Red Fort

    The Lotus Temple is a beautiful temple that is shaped like a lotus flower and is a prominent landmark in Delhi. It is the perfect place to start your day. In the afternoon, visit Qutub Minar, a UNESCO World Heritage site that is one of the tallest brick minarets in the world. Explore the complex and the nearby Iron Pillar of Delhi that has been standing strong for over 1,600 years! In the evening, visit India Gate which is a war memorial that is beautifully lit up at night. It's a great spot to relax and enjoy some street food while taking in the sights and sounds of Delhi.

Recommendations

If you have some extra time, consider visiting the Akshardham temple, Humayun's Tomb, or the National Museum. Side trips to Agra to see the Taj Mahal or Jaipur to explore the Pink City are also highly recommended. To maximize your fun, try taking a rickshaw ride or a tuk-tuk ride to explore the city. Don't forget to try the delicious street food in Delhi, but be careful of the spice! Lastly, if you're interested in shopping, head over to Chandni Chowk for some great bargains and unique finds.
