Day 1 · Mon, May 11
Singapore

Arrival and first stop

  1. Gardens by the Bay – Flower Dome & Cloud Forest (Marina Bay) — A great first stop for Singapore’s signature futuristic greenery and an easy way to reset after arrival; afternoon, ~2.5 hours.
  2. Satay by the Bay (Marina Bay) — Classic local hawker food right by the waterfront, ideal for an early dinner without extra transit; late afternoon/early evening, ~1 hour, about SGD 10–20 per person.
  3. Supertree Grove and OCBC Skyway (Marina Bay) — Best timed for golden hour into dusk for city views and the light show atmosphere; early evening, ~1 hour.
  4. Merlion Park (Downtown Core) — An iconic Singapore photo stop with skyline views that fits neatly before or after Marina Bay; evening, ~30 minutes.
  5. Lau Pa Sat (Downtown Core) — A lively heritage hawker center for a second meal or dessert stop, especially if you want a more central late-night option; evening, ~1 hour, about SGD 8–18 per person.

Afternoon

After arriving, head straight to Gardens by the Bay – Flower Dome & Cloud Forest in Marina Bay to shake off the flight and ease into Singapore’s pace. From most central hotels or Changi Airport, a taxi or ride-hail usually takes about 20–30 minutes from the city and 25–35 minutes from the airport, while the MRT is the cheapest option if you’re traveling light. Expect around SGD 32 for the two conservatories together, and plan on 2–2.5 hours so you’re not rushing through the misty walkways in Cloud Forest or the seasonal displays in Flower Dome. Both are indoors and air-conditioned, which makes this a very smart first stop in Singapore’s heat.

Late Afternoon to Evening

From there, wander over to Satay by the Bay for an early dinner by the water; it’s only a short walk from the gardens, so there’s no need to complicate the day with another transfer. This is the easy, local-hawker version of dinner: grab satay, grilled seafood, sugarcane juice, or noodles for roughly SGD 10–20 per person, and go a little early if you want a quieter table before the evening crowds. Then continue on foot to Supertree Grove and OCBC Skyway and time it for golden hour, when the metal trees and the skyline start looking properly cinematic. The OCBC Skyway is usually best booked in advance or checked on arrival since time slots can fill up, and it’s worth the modest ticket price for the elevated Marina Bay views.

Night

After dusk, stroll across to Merlion Park for the classic Singapore skyline shot — it’s a short, pleasant walk from Marina Bay Sands and the waterfront promenade, and you’ll get the best photos once the buildings are lit up. Give yourself about 20–30 minutes here, just enough for photos and a quick look over the bay without lingering too long. If you still want a second bite or dessert, finish at Lau Pa Sat in the Downtown Core, where the heritage cast-iron structure and lively atmosphere make it one of the easiest late-night food stops in the city; expect around SGD 8–18 per person, and most stalls stay open into the evening. If you’re heading back after that, taxis and ride-hail are the simplest option late at night, especially if you’re carrying bags after arrival.
