2-Day Cultural Immersion Itinerary in Nashik in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Ramkund
    9 minutes (2.1 km) from Nashik Road Station

    Start your cultural immersion at Ramkund, a holy tank where locals take a dip to wash away their sins. In the morning, witness the morning aarti (prayer) where devotees and priests gather to sing and offer prayers to the gods. Afterward, head to the nearby Someshwar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, and admire the intricate carvings and architecture. In the afternoon, visit the Coin Museum, which houses an impressive collection of coins and currency from different eras and countries. End your day at Sula Vineyards, where you can take a tour of the winery and sample some of their award-winning wines while enjoying the stunning views of the surrounding vineyards.

  2. Day 2: Panchvati
    18 minutes (5.8 km) from Ramkund

    Start your day at Panchvati, a site where Lord Rama is believed to have lived during his exile. Visit the Sita Gufa (cave) where Sita is believed to have stayed, and the Kalaram Temple, one of the most important Hindu temples in Nashik. In the afternoon, head to the Nashik Caves, ancient Buddhist rock-cut caves that date back to the 1st century BCE. Here, you can admire the intricate carvings and sculptures, and learn about the history and significance of the caves. End your day with a visit to the Pandavleni Caves, a group of 24 Buddhist caves that offer stunning views of the city and the surrounding hills.

If you have extra time, consider visiting the Trimbakeshwar Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas (holy shrines) of Lord Shiva. You can also take a day trip to the nearby town of Shirdi, the home of Sai Baba, a revered spiritual leader.
