Dubai and Abu Dhabi on a Shoestring Budget: September 2024

  1. Day 1: Dubai Creek
    25 minutes (6 miles) from Dubai International Airport

    In the morning, take a traditional abra (water taxi) across Dubai Creek to explore the Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood. After lunch at a nearby restaurant, visit the Dubai Museum to learn about the region's history. In the evening, head to the nearby Gold Souk to browse through the glittering displays of gold jewelry.

  2. Day 2: Burj Khalifa and The Dubai Mall
    15 minutes (4 miles) from Dubai Creek

    Start the day with a visit to the world's tallest building, Burj Khalifa, to take in panoramic views of the city. After lunch, head to The Dubai Mall, one of the largest shopping centers in the world. Take a walk around the mall's gigantic aquarium and visit the Dubai Fountain in the evening.

  3. Day 3: Jumeirah Beach and The Palm Jumeirah
    30 minutes (10 miles) from The Dubai Mall

    Spend the morning at Jumeirah Beach, one of the most popular beaches in Dubai. After lunch, head to The Palm Jumeirah, an artificial island shaped like a palm tree. Visit the Atlantis, The Palm hotel and take a walk around the marina. In the evening, head back to Jumeirah Beach to watch the sunset.

  4. Day 4: Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and Emirates Palace
    2 hours (80 miles) from Jumeirah Beach

    Take a day trip to Abu Dhabi to see the stunning Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world. After lunch, visit the opulent Emirates Palace hotel and take a walk around its beautiful gardens. In the evening, head back to Dubai and grab a bite at one of the city's many street food stalls.

  5. Day 5: Dubai Miracle Garden and Global Village
    30 minutes (10 miles) from Dubai Creek

    Spend the morning at the Dubai Miracle Garden, a stunning flower garden with over 45 million flowers. After lunch, head to Global Village, an amusement park and cultural destination featuring pavilions from over 75 countries. In the evening, watch the nightly fireworks show and grab dinner at one of the park's many restaurants.

  6. Day 6: Dubai Marina and Kite Beach
    20 minutes (5 miles) from Global Village

    Start the day with a stroll around the Dubai Marina, a beautiful waterfront area with many cafes and restaurants. After lunch, head to Kite Beach to take in views of the Burj Al Arab hotel. Spend the evening at the beach, watching the kite surfers and enjoying the sunset.
