Cretan Sun & Sea: A 7-Day Family Escape (Parents + Partner)

Route: Arrive Heraklion – pick up rental car – explore central Crete (Knossos, Heraklion) – drive west to Rethymno and Chania – loop south to Samaria/Gorge or inland Omalos – relax on southern beaches (Plakias, Preveli) – return via south-central sights to Heraklion for departure.

  1. Day 1 — Heraklion: Arrival, Knossos and City Stroll

    2:00PM: Pick up car & check-in

    Settle in central Heraklion or nearby coastal hotel (mid-range). Short drive from Heraklion Airport to town. (Car hire ~€35–60/day). Time spent: 1–1.5 hours.

    4:00PM: Palace of Knossos

    7:00PM: Farewell dinner in Heraklion
