Most of the locations on this itinerary can be reached by private car, taxi, or public transportation. Taxis can be expensive, and buses can be crowded or infrequent, so renting a car is a good option. Car rentals start from €30 per day, and you can easily rent them online. Santorini's public transportation system is efficient and cheap, but it doesn't run frequently during the low season.
If you have more time, you can add a day trip to Thirassia Island or a hike from Oia to Fira. If you have less time, you can skip Kamari Beach and the open-air cinema. Keep in mind that Santorini can get crowded during the high season, so consider joining organized tours to avoid the queues.
Santorini International Airport (JTR) is located in the southeast part of the island, about 6 km from the city center of Fira. It's the primary airport of Santorini, and handles both domestic and international flights from major European cities. Taxis are readily available outside the airport, and the fare from the airport to your hotel in Fira is around €20. Alternatively, you can pre-book private transfers or rent a car from the airport.
