Relaxing 3-Day Itinerary in Udaipur and Chittorgarh, July 2023

  1. Day 1: Udaipur City Palace and Lake Pichola
    15 minutes (3.5 miles) from Udaipur airport

    In the morning, visit the Udaipur City Palace, which is a complex of 11 palaces, courtyards, and gardens. You can explore the palace and its museums to learn about the history and culture of the Mewar dynasty. After a relaxing lunch overlooking Lake Pichola, take a boat ride on the lake to see the Jag Mandir Palace, the Lake Palace, and the Aravalli range. In the evening, enjoy a sunset view of the lake and the palaces from the Sajjangarh Palace or the Monsoon Palace.

  2. Day 2: Chittorgarh Fort and Kalika Mata Temple
    2.5 hours (88 miles) from Udaipur City Palace

    In the morning, drive to Chittorgarh Fort, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest fort complex in India. The fort has several palaces, temples, gates, and towers, and you can hire a guide to show you around and tell you the stories of bravery and sacrifice of the Rajput warriors.   3. Day 3: Saheliyon Ki Bari and Fateh Sagar Lake
    30 minutes (6 miles) from Chittorgarh Fort

    In the morning, visit the Saheliyon Ki Bari, which is a garden with fountains, pools, and marble elephants, built by the Maharana Sangram Singh for his queen and her maids. You can take a leisure walk and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the garden. After a light lunch, visit the Fateh Sagar Lake, which is a man-made lake surrounded by hills and parks. You can take a boat ride or a horse ride or just stroll along the lake and watch the locals and the tourists. In the evening, do some shopping for souvenirs and handicrafts at the local markets like Bapu Bazaar or Hathi Pol.
