Start your day with a refreshing visit to Bhagsu Waterfall. The morning sun makes the waterfall look even more beautiful and the sound of the water is sure to soothe your soul. You can take a dip in the pool at the bottom of the waterfall or take a hike to the nearby Shiva temple. In the afternoon, head to the nearby Bhagsu village and try out some local street food. After sunset, head to the lively Moon Dance Cafe for some live music and drinks.
Take a trek to Triund, one of the most popular trekking spots in the region. The trek is relatively easy and takes around 5-6 hours. You'll be able to catch breathtaking views of the Dhauladhar range and the Kangra valley throughout the trek. Pack some snacks and drinks for the trek and stop for a picnic lunch on the top. After the trek, relax at one of the many cafes in Dharamkot and watch the sunset over the mountains.
Visit the Tibetan Museum in McLeod Ganj in the morning to learn about the rich Tibetan culture and history. After that, head to the Norbulingka Institute, which is a centre for Tibetan art and culture. You can take a guided tour of the institute and see the artists at work. In the evening, head to the lively Illiterati Cafe for some delicious food, drinks and live music.
For the adventure seekers, take a trek to the Indrahar Pass. The trek is difficult and takes around 4-5 days, but the views are absolutely worth it. After the trek, head back to Dharamkot and relax at one of the cafes.
If you're into adventure sports, you can try paragliding or rock climbing in nearby Bir-Billing. You can also take a day trip to Palampur, which is known for its tea gardens and stunning views. To maximize your fun, try to mix up adventure activities with some cultural experiences. For example, you can visit the Dalai Lama Temple in McLeod Ganj, which is a peaceful and serene place. You can also attend a yoga class or meditation session at one of the many yoga centres in the area. Lastly, make sure to try out the local cuisine, which is a mix of Indian and Tibetan flavours. Some must-try dishes include momos, thukpa and chai.
