Morning

Get into Islands of Adventure as early as you can and go straight to Hogsmeade Village—that first half-hour makes the whole day easier. From the front gate, it’s a quick walk through Port of Entry and then a beeline into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter before the crowds fan out. Start with Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey while the line is still relatively manageable, then pivot immediately to Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure; that’s the ride to prioritize if the posted wait is anywhere in the realm of reasonable. If you’re there at rope drop, expect the early push to feel very efficient, but by late morning the wait can jump fast, so keep moving. Finish that first stretch with a Butterbeer from one of the Hogsmeade kiosks or carts—figure about $10–15 and 20–30 minutes if you want a relaxed stop with time for photos and a bathroom break.

Midday

From Hogsmeade, cut across the park toward Jurassic Park for Jurassic Park River Adventure before lunch. It’s a smart mid-route move because you avoid doubling back later, and it gives you one more big attraction while the park rhythm is still on your side. If you’re watching the clock, aim to be in that area by late morning or just before noon. Then head to Confisco Grille in Port of Entry for lunch—centrally located, air-conditioned, and usually one of the easiest sit-down resets in the park. Plan on roughly $20–35 per person and about an hour if you want to actually rest instead of just refuel.

Afternoon

After lunch, keep the pace looser and work your way into the comic-book side of the park: Skull Island: Reign of Kong comes next, then swing over to Toon Lagoon for Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls and Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges. These are the kind of wet rides that can be a blast in July, but they’ll also soak shoes and shirts, so if you care about staying comfortable, use the afternoon heat to your advantage and embrace the splash. From there, head into Marvel Super Hero Island for The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man, which is usually a strong late-day pick because it’s indoor, air-conditioned, and a nice breather before the final stretch. If hunger hits again, you can weave in Blondie’s in Toon Lagoon or save the next real food stop for the quieter Seuss Landing area.

Evening

Close the day back in Seuss Landing with The Cat in the Hat, then The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride! if time and energy are still on your side. That area is best late in the day because it’s easy to wander, snack, shop, and take your time without feeling like you’re missing a major thrill. If you want a simple dinner or snack, Green Eggs and Ham is the right grab-and-go stop here—fast, casual, and very on-theme, usually around $10–15 per person depending on what you order. Leave a little room for shopping and strolling before you head out; Seuss Landing is one of the nicest places in the park to end the day without rushing, especially after a full circuit from Hogsmeade to the far corners of the park.
