6-Day Haridhwar, Badrinath and Rishikesh Itinerary for Family Friendly Travel in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Arrive in Haridwar
    Nearest Airport: Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun (35 km / 1 hour 20 minutes)

    In the morning, visit the Har Ki Pauri Ghat to witness the Ganga Aarti. In the afternoon, explore the city's markets and try some street food. In the evening, take a dip in the Ganges and attend the Ganga Aarti again.

  2. Day 2: Badrinath
    Distance from Haridwar: 313 km / 10 hours

    In the morning, take a scenic drive to Badrinath and visit Badrinath Temple. In the afternoon, explore the town and visit Tapt Kund and Narad Kund. In the evening, relax in the hot springs.

  3. Day 3: Badrinath

    In the morning, hike to Mana Village, the last village on the Indian border. In the afternoon, visit Vasudhara Falls and Bheem Pul. In the evening, watch the sunset over the Himalayas.

  4. Day 4: Rishikesh
    Distance from Badrinath: 300 km / 10 hours

    In the morning, travel to Rishikesh and visit Triveni Ghat, Lakshman Jhula and Ram Jhula. In the afternoon, take a yoga class or visit one of the many ashrams. In the evening, attend the Ganga Aarti at Parmarth Niketan.

  5. Day 5: Rishikesh

    In the morning, go white water rafting on the Ganges. In the afternoon, visit the Beatles Ashram and Neer Garh Waterfall. In the evening, shop for souvenirs at the local markets.

  6. Day 6: Departure
    Nearest Airport: Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun (23 km / 45 minutes)

    In the morning, visit the Geeta Bhawan and attend the Ganga Aarti for the last time. In the afternoon, depart for Dehradun airport for your flight back home.

Recommendations

Aside from the itinerary, consider visiting the Rajaji National Park for a safari experience. You can also take a side trip to Auli for skiing or trekking.
