Travel Time: 2 hours (3.5 km)

Wake up early and start trekking to Chandrashila Peak, which is around 6 km from Tungnath. The trek is steep but the stunning views of the Himalayas make it worth the effort. It takes around 2-3 hours to reach the summit. At the top, you will experience a 360-degree view of the Himalayan ranges and the valleys below. Descend back to Tungnath by afternoon and relax for the rest of the day.

Recommendations

If you have additional time, you can plan a visit to the nearby Kedarnath Temple or take a dip in the hot springs of Gaurikund. You can also extend your stay at Deoria Tal and go camping. Another popular trek in the area is the Roopkund Trek. Make sure to pack warm clothes, sturdy shoes, and a first aid kit. Carry enough water and food supplies as the trek routes do not have many shops or restaurants.
