Begin your adventure from Haridwar and reach Tungnath by noon. Tungnath Temple is the highest Shiva temple in the world and is one of the five Panch Kedar temples. It is surrounded by breathtaking views of the Himalayas and the greenery around the temple is mesmerizing. Spend your afternoon exploring the temple and its surroundings. In the evening, enjoy a bonfire and stargazing in the chilly weather.
Wake up early and start trekking to Chandrashila Peak, which is around 6 km from Tungnath. The trek is steep but the stunning views of the Himalayas make it worth the effort. It takes around 2-3 hours to reach the summit. At the top, you will experience a 360-degree view of the Himalayan ranges and the valleys below. Descend back to Tungnath by afternoon and relax for the rest of the day.
Drive to Sari village, which is the starting point of the trek to Deoria Tal. It is an easy trek of around 2.5 km through dense forests. Deoria Tal is a beautiful lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains and is believed to be the place where the Pandavas were asked questions by Yaksha. Spend your afternoon exploring the area and relaxing by the lake. Trek back to Sari village by evening and drive back to Haridwar.
If you have additional time, you can plan a visit to the nearby Kedarnath Temple or take a dip in the hot springs of Gaurikund. You can also extend your stay at Deoria Tal and go camping. Another popular trek in the area is the Roopkund Trek. Make sure to pack warm clothes, sturdy shoes, and a first aid kit. Carry enough water and food supplies as the trek routes do not have many shops or restaurants.
