4-Day Itinerary: Bangalore to Chikmagalur

  1. Day 1: Bangalore to Hassan
    Drive time: 4 hours (182 km)

    In the morning, depart from Bangalore and head towards Hassan. Once in Hassan, visit the beautiful Hoysala temples, such as the Chennakesava Temple at Belur and the Hoysaleswara Temple at Halebidu. In the evening, take a stroll around the Hassan city center and try some local delicacies.

  2. Day 2: Hassan to Sakleshpur
    Drive time: 1.5 hours (63 km)

    In the morning, drive to the Manjarabad Fort, a unique star-shaped fort built by Tipu Sultan. Afterward, visit the nearby Bisle Ghat viewpoint for stunning panoramic views of the Western Ghats. In the evening, take a leisurely walk around Sakleshpur town center and unwind in the peaceful surroundings.

  3. Day 3: Sakleshpur to Chikmagalur
    Drive time: 2 hours (61 km)

    Start your day early and drive to the picturesque Jenukal Gudda, also known as the Honey Hill. The trek to the peak is moderately challenging but totally worth it for the spectacular views. Afterward, visit the nearby Manikyadhara Falls and enjoy the tranquil surroundings. In the evening, head to Chikmagalur town center and explore the local markets and shops.

  4. Day 4: Chikmagalur
    Explore the local attractions

    Start your day with a visit to the Mullayanagiri Peak, the highest peak in Karnataka. Trek to the top for breathtaking views of the surrounding valley. Afterward, head to the Baba Budangiri shrine, a sacred spot for both Hindus and Muslims. Finally, visit the serene Hebbe Falls and take a refreshing dip in the cool waters. In the evening, relax at one of Chikmagalur's many coffee plantations and savor the local coffee.

Recommendations

There are plenty of other attractions to visit in the Hassan and Chikmagalur regions, such as the Gorur Dam, the Shravanabelagola Jain temple, and the Kemmangundi hill station. If you have more time, consider taking a detour to the Belavadi town, known for its ancient temples and beautiful landscapes.
