3-day Itinerary for Pondicherry in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Explore the French Quarter

The evening can be reserved for leisurely strolling at the Beach Promenade, which is lined with palm trees and stunning views of the Bay of Bengal.

  2. Day 2: Get close to nature
    30 minutes (11 km) from the French Quarter

    Begin the day early with a visit to the Ousteri Lake, which is a popular destination for bird watchers and nature enthusiasts. The lake is home to a variety of migratory birds, including pelicans, herons, and ducks.   3. Day 3: Explore the Heritage Sites

    Begin the day by visiting the Pondicherry Museum, which is located in the former residence of the French Administrator. The museum displays a vast collection of artifacts that date back to the French colonial period, as well as rare sculptures and coins. Next, visit the Gingee Fort, which is about an hour away from Pondicherry. This 17th-century fort was built by the Nayakas and is perched atop three hills offering stunning panoramic views. The evening can be spent exploring the Botanical Gardens, which is home to a variety of exotic plants and trees.
