One Day Foodie Itinerary in Pune, June 2023

  1. 8:00AM: Dagdusheth Halwai Ganapati Temple
    10 minutes (2.2 km) from Shaniwar Wada

    Start your day with a visit to the famous Dagdusheth Halwai Ganapati Temple, one of the most revered temples in Pune. The temple is known for its beautiful architecture and the intricately designed idol of Lord Ganesha. Don't miss trying the delicious pedas offered as prasad.

  2. 9:30AM: Shaniwar Wada
    6 minutes (1.8 km) from Dagdusheth Halwai Ganapati Temple

    Head to the historic Shaniwar Wada, a fortification built in the 18th century. Walk around the ruins of the fort, learn about its interesting history and take some stunning pictures. Make sure to visit the beautiful gardens surrounding the fort.

  3. 11:00AM: Nana Wada & Lal Mahal
    15 minutes (4.2 km) from Shaniwar Wada

    Next, visit the Nana Wada & Lal Mahal, the former residence of Shivaji Maharaj and his mother Jijabai. Learn about the life of the great Maratha warrior and explore the beautiful architecture of the palace. Make sure to try the delicious misal pav at one of the many stalls nearby.

  4. 12:30PM: Saras Baug
    12 minutes (3.2 km) from Nana Wada & Lal Mahal

    Head to the picturesque Saras Baug, a popular park in Pune. Take a stroll around the garden, enjoy the peaceful surroundings and try some local snacks from the food stalls. Don't miss the beautiful Ganesh temple located in the park.

  5. 2:00PM: FC Road
    25 minutes (5.9 km) from Saras Baug

    For a shopping and food experience, visit FC Road, one of the busiest streets in Pune. Explore the various shops selling traditional clothes, jewelry, and souvenirs. Don't miss the opportunity to try some of the best street food in Pune, such as vada pav, chhole bhature, and more.

  6. 4:00PM: Koregaon Park
    20 minutes (4.2 km) from FC Road

    End your day with a visit to Koregaon Park, a upscale neighborhood in Pune. Take a walk around the park and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Don't miss visiting the famous German Bakery and trying some of their delicious baked goods.

Recommendations

If you have more time, consider visiting the beautiful hill station of Bhandardara, located about 170 km from Pune. You can also take a side trip to Lonavala and Khandala, two popular hill stations located about 70 km from Pune.
