4-Day Itinerary for Kanniyakumari, Padmanabhaswamy, Kodaikanal

  1. Day 1: Kanniyakumari
    2 hours 20 minutes (90 miles) from Trivandrum International Airport

    Morning: Visit the Vivekananda Rock Memorial which is a popular tourist destination in Kanyakumari and is situated about 500m offshore. After that, visit the Thiruvalluvar Statue that is located adjacent to the Vivekananda Rock Memorial. The statue is a 133 feet tall stone sculpture of the Tamil poet and philosopher Thiruvalluvar who wrote the Thirukkural.

    Afternoon: Head towards the Kanyakumari beach which is famous for its unique sunrise and sunset views. Next, visit the Kanyakumari temple which is a very ancient temple dedicated to Devi Kanyakumari.

    Evening: Watch the sunset at the Kanyakumari beach which is one of the major attraction in Kanyakumari. Then attend the light and sound show at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial which is a must-see attraction.

  2. Day 2: Padmanabhaswamy
    2 hours 30 minutes (108 miles) from Kanyakumari

    Morning: Start your day by visiting the Padmanabhaswamy temple which is a famous Hindu temple located in Thiruvananthapuram. This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is one of the most famous temples in Kerala.

  4. Day 4: Kodaikanal
    Distance varies depending on activities chosen

    Morning: Start your day by visiting the Pillar Rocks which are three giant rock pillars standing tall at a height of about 400 feet. These rocks are a popular tourist spot in Kodaikanal and offer a panoramic view of the surrounding hills.

    Afternoon: Visit the Bear Shola Falls which is a beautiful waterfall situated in the Reserve Forest. The waterfall is named after the bears that used to come here to drink water. You can take a dip in the pool below the waterfall.

    Evening: Spend your evening exploring the local markets of Kodaikanal which offer a wide variety of souvenirs and handicrafts. You can also visit the local cafes and restaurants and try out some local delicacies.
