4-Day City Experience Itinerary for Ooty, Kodaikanal, Munnar in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Ooty
    2 hours 10 minutes (55.2 miles) from Coimbatore International Airport

    Start your day at the Government Botanical Garden, which opens at 8:30 am. It is a 22-acre garden with over 650 species of plants and trees. After enjoying the morning breeze and greenery, head to Ooty Lake. The lake opens at 9:00 am, and you can take a boat ride or enjoy some snacks while looking over the serene water. In the afternoon, visit the Doddabetta Peak, which offers a breathtaking view of the Nilgiri Hills. Finally, end your day at the Tea Factory and Museum, which opens at 10:00 am. Here you can learn about the history of tea production in Ooty and taste some fresh tea.

  2. Day 2: Kodaikanal
    5 hours 20 minutes (159 miles) from Ooty

    Start your day at Kodaikanal Lake, which opens at 6:00 am. You can take a stroll around the lake or go for a boat ride. Then head to Bryant Park, which opens at 9:00 am, to enjoy the beautiful flowers and plants. In the afternoon, visit the Coaker's Walk, which is a one-kilometer-long paved pedestrian path with a beautiful view of the valley.   3. Day 3: Munnar

After that, head to the Tea Museum and Factory, which opens at 9:00 am, and learn about the history and production process of tea in Munnar. In the afternoon, visit the Mattupetty Dam, which offers a beautiful view of the lake and surrounding hills. Finally, end your day at the Punarjani Traditional Village, which showcases the art and culture of Kerala.

  4. Day 4: Munnar
    1 hour 30 minutes (37.4 miles) from Cochin International Airport

    Start your day at the Top Station, which offers a panoramic view of the Western Ghats. After that, head to the Echo Point, where you can hear your voice echo back. In the afternoon, visit the Kundala Dam, which is surrounded by greenery and offers a peaceful atmosphere. Finally, end your day at the Attukal Waterfalls, which is a beautiful waterfall surrounded by hills and forests.

You can also consider visiting the Kurinji Temple in Kodaikanal, which is known for its architecture and beautiful view. Another side trip you can take is to Agasthiyar Falls, which is a beautiful waterfall located 18 km from Kodaikanal. To maximize your fun, you can book a hot air balloon ride in Munnar or go on a trek in the Western Ghats.
