Three-Day Itinerary for Goa in September 2023

  1. Day 1: Explore the Beaches of North Goa
    30 minutes (14.5 km) from Goa International Airport

    In the morning, visit the famous Calangute Beach, the largest beach in North Goa, and enjoy the beautiful sunrise. Afternoon, head towards Anjuna Beach to witness the mesmerizing views of the Arabian Sea and have lunch at one of the beach shacks. In the evening, visit the Baga Beach and indulge in some water sports activities like jet-skiing, parasailing, and banana boat rides.

  2. Day 2: Experience the Culture of Old Goa
    1 hour (29 km) from North Goa Beaches

    In the morning, visit the Basilica of Bom Jesus, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and admire the stunning Baroque architecture. Afternoon, explore the Se Cathedral, the largest church in Asia, and the Church of St. Francis of Assisi. In the evening, take a walk through the Fontainhas neighborhood, the Latin Quarter of Panaji, and admire the colorful Portuguese-style houses.

  3. Day 3: Explore the Wildlife and Nature of South Goa
    1 hour 15 minutes (50.6 km) from Old Goa

    In the morning, visit the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary, home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including the Bengal tiger and Indian leopard. Afternoon, visit the Dudhsagar Falls, one of the tallest waterfalls in India, and take a refreshing dip in the natural pool. In the evening, head towards the Palolem Beach and enjoy the serene sunset while sipping on a cocktail at one of the beach shacks.

Recommendations

If you have some spare time, do visit the Arambol Beach in North Goa, which is popular among hippies and backpackers. You can also take a day trip to the nearby spice plantations, where you can learn about various spices and herbs grown in Goa. To maximize your fun, try out some traditional Goan delicacies like fish curry and pork vindaloo. Don't forget to buy some souvenirs from the local markets, including cashews, feni, and handmade pottery. For side trips, take a ferry ride to the stunning Divar Island or explore the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary in Chorao Island.
