Take a Tamil Nadu government bus from Hosur to Madurai, ideally on the first service you can manage; allow around 7–9 hours, and longer if traffic or connections slow you down. Check current TNSTC services and whether you need to change buses—often at Salem or Dindigul—before you leave. This is a very ambitious public-transport day, so carry water and snacks, and don’t count on reaching Madurai early enough for a leisurely start.
From Madurai bus stand, take an auto or city bus to Arulmigu Subramaniya Swamy Temple, Tirupparankundram; allow 1–1.5 hours for the shrine and its rock-cut surroundings. Dress modestly and check the day’s darshan hours locally, as temple schedules can change. Return towards town for a quick meal at Amma Mess—budget roughly ₹200–₹400 per person—then continue by road to Arulmigu Subramaniya Swamy Temple, Pazhamudircholai in the Alagar Hills. The hill journey takes substantial time; arrange a taxi or auto for this leg rather than relying on a tight bus connection, and leave room for the return trip.
After Pazhamudircholai, head back to Madurai and take a government bus to Tiruchendur. Allow 4–5 hours, verify the departure and last-bus options that day, and keep some buffer for the ride back from the hills. Arulmigu Subramaniya Swamy Temple, Tiruchendur is by the seafront; if you arrive while it is open, visit, but don’t depend on a late arrival for darshan. Stay overnight in Tiruchendur—if the temple is closed when you reach town, go early on Day 2 instead. This is an exceptionally long day, and a delay on any leg can push the Tiruchendur visit to the morning.
Take the first TNSTC bus you can find from Tiruchendur towards Palani; allow 6–8 hours, including a possible change, and confirm the route and departure with the bus stand the evening before. This is a very tight day: don’t rely on the separate flight-to-Chennai-and-train suggestion for today, as it doesn’t fit the planned bus journey or temple sequence.
At Arulmigu Dhandayuthapani Swamy Temple, allow 2–3 hours for the hill climb or other available access, darshan and queues. Temple access, services and timings can vary, so check locally; carry water and wear footwear suitable for the climb. Then grab a quick vegetarian meal near Palani Bus Stand—budget about ₹100–₹250 per person—before travelling onward. Reaching Arulmigu Swaminatha Swamy Temple in Swamimalai takes several more hours by public transport, often with connections; allow 1–1½ hours there if you arrive while the temple is open.
The onward trip to Arulmigu Subramaniya Swamy Temple in Tiruttani is also a long intercity journey, so fitting in 1–2 hours for darshan and then catching buses back to Hosur the same night is not realistic. Check bus connections before setting out, but the sensible plan is to add a day and stay overnight, or choose fewer temples today. Only attempt the return after confirming a workable TNSTC connection; expect at least 6–9 hours and possibly a change.
