Central Bengaluru Day Out with Church Street and Natti Lunch

Dates are flexible. This day-by-day plan is provisional until you choose exact travel dates.

Day 1
Central Bengaluru

Church Street and Natti Food Day Out

  1. Cubbon Park (Central Bengaluru) — Start with a shaded walk beneath the park’s mature trees before the day warms up — morning, ~1.5 hours.
  2. Vidhana Soudha (Central Bengaluru) — Admire the landmark’s grand exterior and take photos; it is a government building, so plan to view it from outside — late morning, ~30 minutes.
  3. Ranganna Military Hotel (Chamrajpet) — Make this your Natti-style lunch stop for traditional Karnataka mutton dishes — lunch, ~1 hour.
  4. Bull Temple (Basavanagudi) — See the Dravidian-style temple and its enormous Nandi statue — afternoon, ~45 minutes.
  5. Bugle Rock Park (Basavanagudi) — Wander among the rocky outcrops and greenery near the temple — late afternoon, ~45 minutes.
  6. Church Street (Central Bengaluru) — Browse bookshops and boutiques, pause at a café, and soak up the lively street scene — early evening, ~1.5–2 hours.

Morning

Start around 7:00 a.m. at Cubbon Park, when the paths are cooler and the old trees feel especially peaceful. Allow about 1½ hours to wander its broad lawns and shaded avenues. From there, walk or take a short auto ride to Vidhana Soudha for photos of its grand exterior; it’s a government office, so plan on viewing it from outside.

Lunch and afternoon

Head to Ranganna Military Hotel in Chamrajpet by cab or auto; allow roughly 20–35 minutes from Vidhana Soudha, depending on traffic. Look for traditional Karnataka mutton dishes and budget around ₹300–₹600 per person. Aim for the lunch window, and call ahead to confirm service and availability, as popular dishes can sell out.

After lunch, take a cab or auto to Bull Temple in Basavanagudi, then stroll to nearby Bugle Rock Park. Allow about 45 minutes at each. Check the temple’s visiting hours before you go and dress respectfully.

Early evening on Church Street

From Basavanagudi, take a cab or auto to Church Street; allow roughly 30–45 minutes, with traffic varying through the day. Give yourself time to browse its bookshops and boutiques, stop for coffee or a snack, and enjoy the people-watching. It’s a good place to wind down at an unhurried pace; budget around ₹200–₹500 per person for a café stop, depending on what you order. Bookshop and shop hours vary, so check ahead if there’s somewhere specific you want to visit.
