Dates are flexible. This day-by-day plan is provisional until you choose exact travel dates.
Start at Davis Dam, north of Bullhead City. Allow about 45 minutes for the viewpoints and a few photos of the dam and Colorado River; access and stopping areas can be affected by security or road restrictions, so follow posted signs and don’t count on a full visitor-center experience. Then drive south into Laughlin for an easy hour on the Laughlin Riverwalk. The paved path runs beside the river and casino properties, with plenty of spots to pause; park at a riverfront casino or public lot and check its parking rules.
Stay in Laughlin for Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., where you can settle in for seafood and river views. Budget about $20–$35 per person before drinks and tip, and allow 1–1½ hours. Restaurant hours can vary, so check the current schedule before you go; if you’re visiting at a busy meal time, a little flexibility helps.
Continue south to Big Bend of the Colorado State Recreation Area for 1½–2 hours by the water or on the short trails. It’s a good place to slow down after lunch, but bring water, sun protection, and sturdy shoes, and check current park access and fees before setting out. Later, head back north to Rotary Park in Bullhead City for a laid-back riverside walk and sunset. Give yourself about an hour; sunset timing changes through the year, so arrive a little early if you want to catch the light over the river.
