Dates are flexible. This day-by-day plan is provisional until you choose exact travel dates.
From Jakarta, allow roughly 6–9 hours door to door: travel to the airport, check in and fly to Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport, collect your bags, then drive north to Ubud. The airport-to-Ubud leg is usually about 1.5–2.5 hours, depending on traffic. Choose a flight that leaves enough time for that drive, and arrange your pickup with your accommodation in advance; confirm the fare and meeting point before you travel.
If you arrive with daylight to spare, spend about 45 minutes at Ubud Art Market, right in central Ubud. It’s a pleasant first wander for woven bags, textiles and small crafts; prices are often negotiable, so browse before buying. Stalls and closing times vary, but many wind down around early evening. From there, it’s a short walk to Pura Taman Saraswati. Allow 30–45 minutes to admire its lotus pond and temple architecture; access can be restricted during ceremonies, so treat the visit as a possibility rather than a guaranteed temple entry.
Finish at Hujan Locale, also in central Ubud, for Indonesian-inspired dishes and a relaxed 1–1.5-hour dinner. Budget around IDR 200,000–400,000 per person; check current hours and reserve if you’re arriving at a busy dinner time. If your flight or transfer runs late, don’t try to squeeze in the sights—go straight to dinner if timing allows, or head to your accommodation and save your energy for tomorrow.
Start early at the Campuhan Ridge Walk entrance near Warwick Ibah Luxury Villas, ideally around 7:00–8:00 a.m. The free walk takes about 1–1.5 hours out and back; bring water, as the ridge is exposed and gets hot quickly. From the trail entrance, it’s a short walk to the Blanco Renaissance Museum. Allow 1–1.5 hours to see Antonio Blanco’s home and collection; it generally opens daily around 9:00 a.m., with admission roughly IDR 100,000–150,000. Check current hours and ticket prices before setting out.
Walk or take a short local ride into the center for Ubud Palace; 30–45 minutes is enough to admire the carved gates and courtyard. Then have lunch at Warung Biah Biah, a casual spot for Indonesian small plates—budget about IDR 50,000–120,000 per person, and expect a possible wait at the busy midday hour. After lunch, walk or take a short taxi south to the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary. Give yourself 1.5–2 hours on its shaded paths; entry is typically around IDR 100,000–120,000, but confirm the current rate and closing time.
Keep bags zipped and food out of sight in the sanctuary, and follow staff instructions if a monkey approaches—don’t try to touch or feed one. The day is easy to do on foot between the central stops, with a ride-hailing car or taxi useful for the longer hops if the heat catches up with you.
Leave Ubud early by private car for Denpasar; the drive usually takes 1.5–2.5 hours, and can stretch longer in peak traffic. Ask your accommodation to arrange the car, or book through Grab or Gojek; expect roughly IDR 300,000–600,000. Start early enough to fit in the visits below and still reach the airport with a generous check-in buffer. Begin at Bajra Sandhi Monument in Renon, allowing 1–1.5 hours for the monument and museum. Check current access and hours before setting out.
From Renon, continue by car to Bali Museum in Puputan, about 15–25 minutes depending on traffic. Allow another 1–1.5 hours for its exhibits on Balinese history and culture; opening days and hours can vary, so verify them in advance. Then head to Pasar Badung, Denpasar’s main traditional market, for about an hour of browsing and a simple meal or snacks. Budget around IDR 30,000–100,000 per person for food; keep small cash handy and expect a lively, busy market.
From Pasar Badung, travel by car to Ngurah Rai International Airport, allowing extra time for traffic and the airport approach. This schedule only works comfortably if your flight is late enough to leave room for both museums, the market, the drive, and check-in; if not, shorten the visits or arrange another night in Bali rather than risk missing your flight. For the trip back to Jakarta, allow roughly 5–7 hours door to door, including the airport transfer, check-in, flight, and arrival logistics.
