Start around 8:00 am at Charminar, when the surrounding lanes are still relatively calm. Walk around the landmark and through the nearby Laad Bazaar lanes; if you want to climb the minarets, check that access is open on the day and allow for a queue. Then stop at Nimrah Cafe and Bakery, just beside the monument, for Irani chai and Osmania biscuits—expect roughly ₹100–250 per person. It’s a compact, bustling café, so don’t be surprised if you share a table.
From Nimrah, take an auto-rickshaw or app cab to Chowmahalla Palace in Khilwat; the short ride can take longer in Old City traffic, so allow about 15–25 minutes. The palace is generally open Sunday, 10:00 am–5:00 pm, and closed Fridays; leave 1½–2 hours for its courtyards, halls and royal collection. Next, continue to Salar Jung Museum in Darulshifa, around 15–25 minutes away by road. It is generally open Sunday, 10:00 am–5:00 pm, and closed Fridays. Since the collection is enormous, focus on a few galleries and allow at least two hours; check current ticketing and entry arrangements before setting out, and arrive well before closing. Keep some flexibility for queues and traffic between sights.
Finish at Hussain Sagar Lake on Tank Bund. A cab from the museum is the simplest option; allow roughly 25–40 minutes, depending on traffic. Take a relaxed lakeside walk as the light softens, and check local conditions before counting on a boat ride. Sunday roads can be busy, so use a little extra time for each transfer—and carry water and comfortable shoes for the Old City’s uneven, crowded lanes.
