Dates are flexible. This day-by-day plan is provisional until you choose exact travel dates.
Start at Mehrangarh Fort when it opens, usually around 9 a.m.; allow 2.5–3 hours for the courtyards, museum and ramparts. The climb is steep, so take the lift up if it’s operating and save your energy for exploring. Entry is roughly ₹200 for Indian visitors and ₹600 for international visitors, with extras for an audio guide or lift; check the official rates before you go. Wear shoes with grip and carry water.
Walk over to Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park, right beside the fort, for 1–1.5 hours on its rugged trails among native desert plants. Trail access generally begins around 7 a.m., but hours and entry fees can vary by season, so confirm locally; bring sun protection and expect uneven ground. Then take an auto-rickshaw to Jaswant Thada—a short ride, traffic permitting—and allow 45–60 minutes for the carved marble memorial and gardens. It typically opens around 9 a.m.; check the current entry fee at the gate.
Head into the Old City to Toorji Ka Jhalra for about 30 minutes. The stepwell is free to view, though the steps can be slippery and access may be restricted, so admire it from the permitted areas. Have a relaxed lunch at Stepwell Cafe, overlooking the water; budget ₹500–₹1,000 per person, and allow time for service. Finish at Sardar Market and Ghanta Ghar, browsing the lanes around the clock tower for 1–1.5 hours. Late afternoon is a good time to explore as the heat eases; expect busy, narrow streets, and agree on an auto-rickshaw fare before setting off.
