Dates are flexible. This day-by-day plan is provisional until you choose exact travel dates.
Travel from Kolkata to Port Blair (Sri Vijaya Puram) by flight. Allow roughly 5–7 hours door to door for getting to the airport, check-in and queues, the flight, and the transfer from Veer Savarkar International Airport into town; actual timing depends on the flight you book. An early departure gives you the best chance of fitting in the visits below, but don’t count on reaching town in time for everything if your flight is delayed. A prepaid taxi or hotel-arranged pickup is the simplest airport transfer.
Start at Cellular Jail in the Aberdeen area, allowing 1.5–2 hours for the galleries and grounds. Check current opening hours and entry arrangements before setting out, as access can vary. Continue by taxi to Samudrika Naval Marine Museum in Haddo; allow 1–1.5 hours and confirm it is open to visitors that day. Then head back towards Aberdeen Bazaar for a casual South Indian meal at Annapurna Cafeteria—budget about ₹150–₹350 per person—before browsing Aberdeen Bazaar for souvenirs and everyday island goods. Leave around an hour for shopping; taxis and auto-rickshaws are practical between these areas, though it’s worth agreeing on the fare before setting off.
This is a full day even with an early flight, so keep the evening easy and stay overnight in Port Blair rather than trying to fly back to Kolkata the same day. Return to Kolkata the following day, allowing roughly 5–7 hours door to door for the airport transfer, check-in, flight and arrival journey; choose your departure timing around your booked flight and confirm local transport with your hotel.
