Dates are flexible. This day-by-day plan is provisional until you choose exact travel dates.
Leave Malad around 5:00–5:30 am to get through Mumbai and Panvel before traffic builds. The route via Panvel, Pen and the coastal road to Kashid usually takes about 4–5 hours in light traffic; allow longer for congestion, roadworks and a breakfast stop. Once near Kashid, follow local directions to Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary—the approach and trail access can vary, so check conditions with your accommodation or the sanctuary locally before setting out. Allow 1.5–2 hours for a walk if trails are open, and ask about any entry requirements or guide arrangements. Wear closed shoes, carry water and don’t count on mobile signal throughout the sanctuary.
Head back towards Kashid village for a relaxed seafood thali; budget roughly ₹250–₹500 per person, depending on what you order. Small local kitchens may have limited menus or sell out of particular dishes, so ask your host for a currently open khanaval and call ahead if possible. Give lunch about an hour, then take a breather at your stay before heading out again.
Spend the late afternoon at Kashid Beach, known for its broad stretch of pale sand and tree-lined edges. It’s a short local drive from the village; confirm where you can park, as access and parking arrangements can vary. Enjoy the shore and sunset, but keep an eye on the light—sunset is around 6 pm in October, and it’s best to leave the beach before dark rather than walk unfamiliar stretches at dusk. Check local sea conditions and heed lifeguard advice before swimming.
Leave Kashid around 7:30 am for Rajapuri Jetty, roughly 30–40 minutes away by road. Boats to Murud-Janjira Fort are weather- and sea-dependent; allow 2–3 hours for the crossing and visit, and confirm the boat service and return timing at the jetty before boarding. Carry cash, water and sun protection, and wear shoes with a good grip—the fort’s steps can be slippery.
After returning, take an easy 45-minute walk at Murud Beach, then have lunch in town. Hotel Radhika is one option to check for a sit-down meal; opening and menu can vary, so confirm locally. Budget about ₹200–₹500 per person, with seafood and vegetarian choices depending on the day.
Stop at Nandgaon Beach for about 45 minutes on the way back, then collect your bags. Aim to leave Kashid by 3 pm for Malad, taking the route via Pen and Panvel. Allow at least 4–5 hours, and more if traffic builds around Panvel; an early departure gives you the best chance of reaching Malad before 11 pm.
