Dates are flexible. This day-by-day plan is provisional until you choose exact travel dates.
Start at Big Buddha Temple (Wat Phra Yai) around 8:00, when it’s cooler and quieter. The temple is generally open from early morning to early evening, and entry is free, though a small donation is welcome. Dress modestly—cover shoulders and knees—and remove your shoes before entering the shrine. Allow about 15 minutes by taxi from here to Wat Plai Laem; agree on the fare before setting off, since island taxis can be pricey and public transport is limited.
Spend about an hour at Wat Plai Laem, wandering between the colorful shrines and statues reflected in the lake. It’s usually open during daylight hours and free to visit; modest dress is appreciated here too. From the temple, it’s roughly a 15–20-minute taxi ride to Fisherman’s Village in Bophut. The waterfront lanes are pleasant for a browse, but many shops open later in the day, so expect a calm, unhurried stroll rather than a full shopping scene.
Settle in for lunch at Greenlight Cafe & Bar in Fisherman’s Village; allow roughly ฿250–500 per person for a meal, with vegetarian-friendly choices. Check its hours on the day, as they can change. After lunch, walk a few minutes to Bophut Beach for an easy shoreline stroll or a relaxed hour by the water. The afternoon sun is strong, so bring water and sunscreen; if you plan to swim, check the sea conditions before heading in.
