Leave Coimbatore before dawn and take the Mysuru–Hassan route toward Bhadra Tiger Reserve’s Muthodi range. Allow roughly 8–10 hours door to door, including breaks; traffic, road conditions and the final forest-road stretch can add time. This is too long a drive to sensibly combine with a safari, so arrange an overnight stay near Muthodi and confirm arrival and parking details with your accommodation.
Book a guided Bhadra Tiger Reserve safari in advance through the official reserve or your stay, and allow around three hours. Safaris depend on availability and operating schedules, so don’t count on catching one after the drive; plan it for the following morning instead. Continue to Bhadra Dam at Lakkavalli for about 45 minutes of reservoir views, ideally on a separate day rather than squeezing it in after the long drive.
After the dam, head to Town Canteen in Chikkamagaluru for Karnataka-style dishes; allow about an hour and budget roughly ₹150–₹350 per person. Then take a 1–2-hour guided visit to a Chikkamagaluru coffee estate. Arrange the visit ahead through your accommodation or directly with an estate, since access and timings vary.
Don’t attempt the drive back to Coimbatore after these activities: allow another 8–10 hours door to door via Hassan and Mysuru. The practical plan is at least three nights—near Muthodi after arrival, another night after the safari, and a night in Chikkamagaluru after the dam, meal and estate visit—then make the return drive the next day, with breaks and time for traffic.
