3-Day Itinerary for Jaipur

  1. Day 1: Amer Fort
    29 minutes (7.5 miles) from Jaipur International Airport

    In the morning, visit the Amer Fort, also known as the Amber Fort, a stunning piece of architecture perched on a hill overlooking Maota Lake. Explore the interior of the fort, including the Sheesh Mahal or Hall of Mirrors, and learn about the history of the Rajputana rulers. In the afternoon, head to the nearby Jaigarh Fort and see the largest cannon in the world. In the evening, witness the light and sound show at Amer Fort, which narrates the history of the fort and is a treat for the senses.

  2. Day 2: City Palace and Jantar Mantar

    In the morning, visit the City Palace, a beautiful complex of palaces, gardens and courtyards, and the residence of the former royal family.   3. Day 3: Hawa Mahal and Nahargarh Fort

    In the morning, visit the Hawa Mahal, a unique five-storey honeycomb-shaped palace, which was built to allow royal ladies to observe the street festivities without being seen. Admire the intricate latticework and the colourful glass windows. In the afternoon, head to the Nahargarh Fort, a hilltop fort with stunning views of the city, which was used as a retreat by the royal family. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Rajasthani dinner at Chokhi Dhani, a village-themed resort, which offers a range of cultural activities, such as camel rides, puppet shows and folk dances.

If you have some spare time, you can also visit the Jal Mahal, a palace situated in the middle of Man Sagar Lake, the Albert Hall Museum, a museum of art and artefacts, or the Galtaji Temple, a temple complex with natural water springs and monkey population. You can also take a side trip to the nearby cities of Ajmer and Pushkar, which offer a blend of history, religion and adventure.
