Two-Day Nature Itinerary in Lonavala in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Tiger's Point
    15 minutes (6.8 km) from Lonavala Bus Stand

    In the morning, head to Tiger's Point to witness the stunning sunrise view. It offers a panoramic view of the valley and is a popular spot for nature photography. Spend the afternoon at Bushi Dam, a picturesque place known for its gushing waterfall and beautiful surroundings. In the evening, visit the Rajmachi Garden, a well-maintained garden offering a variety of flowers and plants.

  2. Day 2: Karla Caves
    25 minutes (12.4 km) from Tiger's Point

    Spend the morning exploring the Karla Caves, ancient rock-cut caves dating back to 80 BC. The caves are famous for their unique architecture and intricate carvings. In the afternoon, visit the Lonavala Lake, a serene lake surrounded by lush greenery. Enjoy a boat ride here and soak in the tranquil atmosphere. In the evening, go on a short trek to the Lohagad Fort, an ancient fort with breathtaking views of the surrounding hills.

Recommendations

If you have time, you can also visit the Bhaja Caves, a group of 22 rock-cut caves located near the Karla Caves. Another side trip you can take is to the Korigad Fort, a hill fort located about 20 km from Lonavala. To maximize your fun, try local delicacies such as chikki, a sweet made of jaggery and peanuts, and vada pav, a popular street food.
