Two-Day Family Friendly Itinerary in Jaipur in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Amer Fort
    20 minutes (8.1 km) from Jaipur city centre

    In the morning, head to Amer Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is known for its beautiful architecture and stunning views. Take an elephant ride up the hill to the entrance, and then explore the fort's many courtyards, palaces, and temples. Don't miss the Sheesh Mahal (mirror palace), which is covered in thousands of tiny mirrors that reflect light in a dazzling way. After lunch, head to the City Palace Museum, which is located in the heart of Jaipur. Here, you can see a collection of beautiful textiles, weapons, and artwork. Finally, head to Hawa Mahal, a five-storey palace that is famous for its intricate honeycomb-shaped facade. Take some photos and enjoy the sunset before heading back to your hotel.

  2. Day 2: Jantar Mantar and Albert Hall Museum
    10 minutes (3.6 km) from Jaipur city centre

    Start your day at Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory that was built in the 18th century. Here, you can see a collection of massive stone instruments that were used to measure time and track the movements of the stars. Afterward, take a short walk to the nearby Albert Hall Museum, which houses a collection of beautiful artefacts from around the world. In the afternoon, head to Jaipur's old city and explore the colourful markets and bazaars. Don't forget to haggle for a good deal on some souvenirs! For dinner, try some of Rajasthan's famous vegetarian dishes at one of the many local restaurants.

If you have more time in Jaipur, consider visiting the Jaigarh Fort, which is located next to Amer Fort and is known for its giant cannon, or the Nahargarh Fort, which offers amazing views of the city. You can also check out the Chokhi Dhani village, which offers a taste of Rajasthan's rich culture and traditions. For a side trip, head to Pushkar, a holy town located about 150 km from Jaipur, and take a dip in the sacred Pushkar Lake. To maximize your fun in Jaipur, try taking a hot air balloon ride over the city, or go on a guided bicycle tour of the city's hidden gems. Finally, don't forget to try some of Jaipur's famous street food, such as pyaaz kachori or lassi, for a truly authentic experience!
