Kedarnath Temple Bachelor Party Itinerary - October 2023

  1. Day 1: Arrival in Dehradun
    30 minutes (15 miles) from Jolly Grant Airport

    Upon arrival in Dehradun, check into your hotel and then spend the rest of your day exploring the city. Visit Robber's Cave and enjoy a refreshing dip in its cool waters. In the evening, head to Paltan Bazaar where you can shop for souvenirs and enjoy the local street food.

  2. Day 2: Dehradun to Rudraprayag
    5 hours (145 miles) from Dehradun

    Start your day early and head towards Rudraprayag. On your way, stop at Devprayag to witness the confluence of the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers. In the afternoon, visit the Koteshwar Mahadev Temple and take a dip in the Mandakini river. In the evening, enjoy a bonfire and local cuisine at your hotel in Rudraprayag.

  3. Day 3: Rudraprayag to Guptkashi
    2 hours (37 miles) from Rudraprayag

    Visit the ancient Triyuginarayan Temple in the morning and witness the eternal flame that has been burning here for centuries. Head to Guptkashi and visit the Vishwanath Temple. In the afternoon, take a dip in the hot water spring of Gaurikund. In the evening, relax at your hotel and enjoy a traditional Garhwali dinner.

  4. Day 4: Guptkashi to Kedarnath
    1 hour 30 minutes (29 miles) from Guptkashi

    Start your trek to Kedarnath early in the morning. The trek is approximately 16 km long and takes around 6-7 hours. Upon arrival, take a dip in the holy Mandakini river and visit the Kedarnath Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas and a major Hindu pilgrimage destination. Spend the night in Kedarnath and enjoy the scenic beauty of the Himalayas.

  5. Day 5: Kedarnath to Guptkashi
    1 hour 30 minutes (29 miles) from Kedarnath

    Start your trek back to Guptkashi in the morning. Upon arrival, relax at your hotel and take a dip in the hot water spring of Gaurikund. In the evening, enjoy a local dance performance and a traditional Garhwali dinner.

  6. Day 6: Guptkashi to Dehradun
    7 hours (210 miles) from Guptkashi

    Drive back to Dehradun, where you can visit the Forest Research Institute and the Tibetan Buddhist Temple. In the evening, head to the Pacific Mall for some shopping and a movie. Spend your last night in Dehradun before departing from Jolly Grant Airport the next day.

Recommendations

Aside from visiting the Kedarnath Temple, there are several other local attractions worth considering, such as the Tungnath Temple and the Chandrashila Trek. You could also take a side trip to the scenic town of Auli for some skiing and snowboarding. To maximize your fun, make sure to pack comfortable clothes and shoes, as well as a waterproof jacket and sunscreen. Don't forget to try the local cuisine, which includes dishes like Kumaoni Raita and Bal Mithai.
