3-Day Itinerary for Nature Lovers in Vishakapatnam and Aruku in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Araku Valley
    115 km (2.5 hours) from Vizag

    In the morning, visit the Borra Caves, known for its stunning limestone stalactites and stalagmites. Afternoon, head to the Katiki Waterfalls, which are surrounded by lush greenery and offer a refreshing dip. In the evening, take a stroll around the tribal museum and learn about the culture and traditions of the local tribes.

  2. Day 2: Kambalakonda Wildlife Sanctuary
    23 km (50 minutes) from Vizag

    Start your day early with a safari at the Kambalakonda Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to various species of deer, leopards, and other animals. Afternoon, visit the Indira Gandhi Zoological Park, which houses over 80 species of animals. In the evening, head to the Tenneti Park for a beautiful sunset view of the beach.

  3. Day 3: Yarada Beach
    15 km (30 minutes) from Vizag

    Begin your day with a sunrise view at the Kailasagiri Hilltop Park. Afternoon, head to the Rushikonda Beach and try your hand at surfing or simply relax on the beach. In the evening, visit the Dolphin's Nose for a panoramic view of the ocean and the surrounding hills.

Recommendations

If you have time, consider visiting the Simhachalam Temple, a Hindu temple located on top of a hill, or the Thotlakonda Buddhist Complex, an ancient Buddhist site. You can also take a day trip to the nearby city of Vizianagaram and visit the Vizianagaram Fort and the Thatipudi Reservoir. For a unique experience, go for a coffee plantation tour in Araku and learn about the coffee-making process. Lastly, make sure to try the local cuisine, especially the bamboo chicken and the famous Araku coffee.
