Adventure-Filled 3-Day Itinerary for Korba in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Kailash Gufa
    20 minutes (6.5 km) from Korba Bus Stand

    Start your adventure-filled trip with a visit to Kailash Gufa, one of the largest man-made caves in India. Take a guided tour and explore the beautiful rock formations, ancient sculptures, and intricate carvings. In the morning, climb up to the entrance, and experience the stunning panoramic view of the surrounding forest. After lunch, head towards the nearby waterfall, Tirathgarh, for some more adventure. Enjoy swimming and cliff jumping in the crystal-clear water. In the evening, return to the city and experience the local cuisine at one of the many street food stalls.

  2. Day 2: Hasdeo Aranya
    1 hour 10 minutes (45 km) from Kailash Gufa

    Spend your second day exploring the beautiful Hasdeo Aranya forest. Start your morning with a jeep safari, and spot some of the exotic wildlife, including tigers, leopards, and sloth bears. After lunch, head towards the Kethani dam, and enjoy some water sports activities like boating, kayaking, and fishing. In the evening, return to the city and explore the local markets for some souvenirs.

  3. Day 3: Amarkantak
    3 hours 10 minutes (120 km) from Hasdeo Aranya

    On your final day, take a trip to Amarkantak, a holy city located at the origin of the Narmada river. Start your day with a visit to Narmada Udgam, the exact point where the river originates. After lunch, head towards the famous Kapil Dhara waterfall and enjoy the serene surroundings. In the evening, visit the ancient temples of Kalachuri period, including the Narmada Temple, the Durga Temple, and the Shri Yantra Temple. Return to Korba for your onward journey.

For more adventure, you can also consider visiting the Barnawapara Wildlife Sanctuary, located 45 km from Korba. If you have more time, you can plan a day trip to the nearby city of Bilaspur, which is famous for its Kosa silk sarees.
