4-Day Family Friendly Itinerary for Udaipur and Kumbhalgarh in June 2023

  1. Day 1: City Palace Udaipur
    15 minutes (4.5 km) from Udaipur Airport

    Start your day at the City Palace, the largest palace in Rajasthan. You can easily spend a few hours here exploring the various courtyards, gardens and museums. The palace has a rich history and the architecture is breathtaking. In the afternoon, head to the Jagdish Temple, located just outside the palace complex. This 17th-century temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is a great example of Indo-Aryan architecture. In the evening, take a boat ride on Lake Pichola and witness the stunning sunset over the Aravalli hills.

  2. Day 2: Kumbhalgarh Fort
    2 hours 20 minutes (85 km) from Udaipur

    Today, take a day trip to Kumbhalgarh Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fort is located on a hilltop and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The fort walls are the second longest in the world after the Great Wall of China. Spend your morning exploring the fort and its various temples and palaces. In the afternoon, head to the nearby Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary and go on a safari to spot leopards, sloth bears, and various species of deer. In the evening, return to Udaipur and relax at your hotel.

  3. Day 3: Saheliyon Ki Bari and Sajjangarh Palace
    20 minutes (6.7 km) from Udaipur

    Begin your day at Saheliyon Ki Bari, a beautiful garden built for the women of the royal household. The garden has various fountains, marble elephants, and kiosks. In the afternoon, head to the nearby Sajjangarh Palace, also known as the Monsoon Palace. This palace was built in the 19th century and offers breathtaking views of Udaipur and its surrounding lakes. The palace is located on a hilltop and is a great spot to watch the sunset. In the evening, head to Fateh Sagar Lake for a relaxing boat ride and enjoy the cool breeze.

  4. Day 4: Bagore Ki Haveli and Vintage Car Museum
    10 minutes (2.2 km) from Lake Pichola

    On your last day, start with a visit to Bagore Ki Haveli, a 18th-century haveli turned museum. The museum showcases the lifestyle and culture of the royal families of Mewar. Catch the cultural show in the evening that includes folk dances and music. In the afternoon, head to the Vintage Car Museum, located near the City Palace. The museum has a collection of vintage and classic cars and motorcycles. In the evening, head to the local markets for some souvenir shopping and try some local street food.

If you have extra time, you can consider visiting the Jaisamand Lake, which is the second-largest artificial lake in Asia. You can also visit the Eklingji Temple, which is located 20 km from Udaipur and is an important pilgrimage site for Hindus. Another option is to take a day trip to Chittorgarh Fort, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is a great example of Rajput architecture.
