3-Day Itinerary for Goa in January 2024

  1. Day 1: Basilica of Bom Jesus
    20 minutes (9.7 km) from Goa International Airport

    In the morning, visit the Basilica of Bom Jesus, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and marvel at the baroque architecture and the tomb of St. Francis Xavier. In the afternoon, head to the nearby Se Cathedral, another UNESCO World Heritage site, and admire the Portuguese-Gothic style. In the evening, take a walk around the Fontainhas neighborhood and appreciate the colorful Portuguese-style houses.

  2. Day 2: Dudhsagar Waterfalls
    1 hour 30 minutes (70 km) from Panaji

    Start your morning early and take a scenic drive to the Dudhsagar Waterfalls, one of the highest waterfalls in India. Take a dip in the natural pool at the base of the falls or go for a hike in the surrounding forests. In the afternoon, visit the Spice Plantation and take a guided tour to learn about the different spices and their uses in Goan cuisine. In the evening, head to the Tito's Lane in Baga for some nightlife and entertainment.

  3. Day 3: Fort Aguada
    30 minutes (12 km) from Candolim Beach

    In the morning, visit the Fort Aguada, a 17th-century Portuguese fort that offers stunning views of the Arabian Sea. Take a tour of the fort and learn about its history. In the afternoon, head to the Anjuna Flea Market and explore the colorful stalls selling everything from clothing to handicrafts. In the evening, take a sunset cruise along the Mandovi River and enjoy traditional Goan music and dance performances.

If you have more time, consider visiting the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, the Chapora Fort, or the Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary. You can also take a day trip to the nearby beaches of Arambol, Morjim, or Palolem. To maximize your fun, try some water sports such as parasailing, jet skiing, or banana boat rides. Make sure to try some authentic Goan cuisine, especially the fish curry and rice, and the vindaloo. Finally, don't forget to sample some of the locally brewed feni, a spirit made from cashew fruit or coconut.
