  • Day 1: Marrakesh

    Start your journey in the heart of Marrakesh at the Jamaâ El Fna square, a bustling market filled with performers, food stalls, and shops. Here, you can wander around and experience the vibrant culture of Morocco up close.

  • Day 2: Agadir
    Marrakesh to Agadir (246 km, 2.5 hrs)

    Visit the Agadir Oufella Ruins, an ancient fortress that once stood over the city. Then, relax on the beach and explore the many restaurants and shops on the Agadir waterfront.

  • Day 3: Kenitra
    Agadir to Kenitra (558 km, 5.5 hrs)

    Explore the Medina of Fez, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most well-preserved examples of an ancient Islamic city in the world. Also, visit the King's Palace, a grand building showcasing Moroccan architecture and design.

  • Day 6: Larache
    Fez to Larache (195 km, 3 hrs)

    Start with the Archaeological Site of Lixus, an ancient Roman city and a hidden gem along the coast. Then, explore the Larache Beach and the promenade by the river, where you can experience the daily life of the locals.

  • Day 7-8: Meknes
    Larache to Meknes (147 km, 2 hrs)

    Discover Bab Mansour, one of the grandest entrances to an imperial city that was built during the 16th century by the sultan Moulay Ismail. Then, visit Moulay Ismail Mausoleum to learn about the importance of this leader and Meknes' history. Finish your day by walking through the streets of the old medina where you can find an antic market and great places to eat.

  • Day 9-15: Marrakesh
    Meknes to Marrakesh (530 km, 5.5 hrs)

    Return to Marrakesh and spend the rest of your trip exploring any places that you find interesting from day one.

Transportation

Traveling around Morocco can vary from trains to buses, to rental cars. Buses may be the cheapest option, but rental cars or private guides give an unparalleled amount of flexibility. Expect to pay 80-100 MAD per day for a rental car, 110 MAD for a bus ride, and 200-500 MAD for a taxi.

Useful Tips

If you have extra days to enjoy, consider visiting the beautiful Tangier or the blue-washed Chefchaouen. If you have less time, consider leaving out Kenitra or Larache. Find the places of interest that fit your preferences and adjust the itinerary as needed.

Airports

The main airport in Morocco is Mohammed V International Airport (CMN) located in Casablanca. It is the main hub for Royal Air Maroc and is about 30 km south of the city center. There is also a regional airport called Marrakesh Menara Airport (RAK) located just outside of Marrakesh, which services many European destinations.
