In the evening, take a stroll around the Kallanai Dam, a 2,000-year-old dam built across the Kaveri river.

  5. Day 5: Mahabalipuram Beach, Mahabalipuram
    4 hours 30 minutes (300 km) from Trichy

    Spend the morning exploring the UNESCO World Heritage site of Shore Temple and its surrounding monuments. After lunch, head to Mahabalipuram Beach, a picturesque beach with golden sands and crystal clear waters. In the evening, visit the Five Rathas, monolithic rock-cut temples carved in the shape of chariots.
