A Family-Friendly 2-Day Itinerary in Kerala for July 2023

    Ernakulam - Kochi
Estimated Distance: 30 minutes (11.5 km)

Afternoon: Head towards Fort Kochi and visit the famous Chinese Fishing Nets. These fishing nets are unique to Kerala and provide a great photo opportunity with the Arabian Sea in the background. You can also visit the St. Francis Church and the Santa Cruz Basilica, which are just a stone's throw away from the nets.

Evening: End your day by watching a traditional Kathakali dance performance at the Kerala Kathakali Centre. Kathakali is a classical dance form that depicts stories from Indian mythology and is a must-watch cultural experience when in Kerala.

Recommendations

Kerala has a lot to offer, including backwater cruises, Ayurvedic spas, and traditional handicraft shopping. If you have some extra time, we recommend taking a houseboat cruise through the backwaters of Alleppey or visiting a traditional Ayurvedic spa for a relaxing massage. You can also shop for souvenirs at the local markets in Kochi or Munnar. Maximise your fun by sampling the delicious Kerala cuisine - don't miss out on trying the appam and stew, puttu and kadala curry, or the famous Kerala-style fish curry.
