3-Day Adventure Itinerary for Meesapulimala

  1. Day 1: Meesapulimala Trek
    Starting point: Meesapulimala Base Camp

    Morning: Begin your adventure with a trek to the peak of Meesapulimala, the second highest peak in Western Ghats. The trek starts from the base camp and takes around 3-4 hours (4.3 km). On the way, you will encounter breathtaking views of the tea plantations and the shola forest.

    Afternoon: Once you reach the peak, enjoy the panoramic view of the Western Ghats. Don't forget to take the mandatory picture with the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border sign. Have a packed lunch while enjoying the view.

    Evening: After descending from the peak, explore the nearby Rhodo Valley and enjoy the scenic beauty of the place. Be back at the base camp before sunset.

  2. Day 2: Kolukkumalai Tea Estate
    Starting point: Suryanelli town
    Duration: 4-5 hours
    Distance: 15 km

    Morning: Start your day early and head to the Kolukkumalai Tea Estate, one of the highest tea plantations in the world. The route to the tea estate is a mix of off-road and on-road drive and takes around 2-3 hours (10 km).

    Afternoon: Once you reach the tea estate, take a guided tour to understand the tea-making process and history of the estate. You can also enjoy the tea and the stunning view of the Western Ghats from the estate.

    Evening: After the tour, head back to Suryanelli town and explore the local markets. You can also take a short hike to the nearby waterfalls to relax and rejuvenate.

  3. Day 3: Jeep Safari in the Shola Forest
    Starting point: Meesapulimala Base Camp
    Duration: 4-5 hours
    Distance: 12 km

    Morning: Start your day with a thrilling jeep safari in the Shola Forest surrounding Meesapulimala. The safari starts from the base camp and takes around 2-3 hours (6 km). On the way, you will encounter the beautiful flora and fauna of the Western Ghats.

    Afternoon: After the safari, head to the nearby Chinnakanal Waterfalls to relax and enjoy the scenic beauty of the place. You can also take a dip in the natural pool.

    Evening: After the waterfall visit, head to the Anayirankal Dam and enjoy the sunset while boating in the dam.

Munnar, the popular hill station, is just 40 km (1.5 hours) from Meesapulimala. You can plan a day trip and visit the tea plantations, Mattupetty Dam, and the Eravikulam National Park.
