Family-Friendly 3-Day Itinerary for Goa in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Calangute Beach
    50 minutes (21.6 km) from Goa International Airport

    Calangute Beach is a perfect spot for family fun. You can rent beach chairs and umbrellas, and enjoy water activities such as parasailing, jet skiing, and banana boat rides. The beach is also surrounded by many food stalls, cafes, and restaurants. In the morning, you can take a dip in the Arabian Sea and enjoy a long walk on the sandy beach. After lunch, visit the nearby St. Alex Church, built in 1741. In the evening, head to the Baga Beach Market, located ten minutes away, for some shopping and street food.

  2. Day 2: Dudhsagar Waterfalls
    2 hours 15 minutes (80 km) from Calangute Beach

    Dudhsagar Waterfalls is one of the most popular waterfalls in India. The falls are surrounded by lush greenery and have four tiers. In the morning, take a train from Thivim railway station to Kulem, and then a jeep to the waterfalls. It's a scenic two-hour drive through rural villages, dense forests, and rugged mountain terrain. You can take a refreshing dip in the cool waters and enjoy a picnic lunch on the rocks. In the evening, return to Calangute Beach and relax.

  3. Day 3: Goa Chitra Museum and Old Goa
    1 hour 10 minutes (32 km) from Calangute Beach

    In the morning, visit the Goa Chitra Museum, which showcases the cultural heritage of Goa. The museum has a vast collection of artifacts and antiques, including farming tools, musical instruments, pottery, and traditional clothing. After lunch, head to Old Goa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which was the capital of Portuguese India from the 16th to 18th centuries. You can visit the Basilica of Bom Jesus, which houses the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier, and the Se Cathedral, which is one of the largest churches in Asia. In the evening, take a sunset cruise on the Mandovi River and enjoy Goan music and dance performances.

The sanctuary is home to many migratory birds, including kingfishers, egrets, and storks. To maximize your fun, try some local Goan cuisine, such as fish curry, vindaloo, and sorpotel. You can also attend a traditional Goan dance performance, known as Fugdi or Dekhni, and learn some dance moves. Finally, don't forget to relax on the beach and enjoy the sunsets.
