Begin your day early with a visit to the Mahakaleshwar Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. The temple is located in the heart of Ujjain and is known for its intricate carvings and beautiful architecture. After seeking blessings at the temple, head to Sarafa Bazaar, famous for its street food. Try local delicacies like bhutte ki kees, poha jalebi and garadu. In the evening, attend the Bhasma Aarti at the temple, a unique and spiritual experience that is not to be missed.

  2. Day 2: Kshipra River and Sandipani Ashram

Start your day with a visit to the Kshipra River, one of the seven holy rivers in India which is believed to have spiritual and purifying properties. Take a dip in the river and attend the morning aarti for a divine experience. After that, head to Sandipani Ashram, a renowned Vedic learning center where Lord Krishna and Sudama were students. The ashram also houses a museum showcasing ancient scriptures and artifacts. Recommendations

If you have more time, consider visiting the Gopal Mandir, a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Krishna, or the Vedh Shala Observatory, an ancient observatory that houses several astronomical instruments. You can also take a side trip to Omkareshwar, a scenic town situated on the banks of the Narmada river, which is famous for its Omkareshwar Temple and scenic boat rides. To maximize your fun, do not forget to try the local street food and shop for traditional handicrafts and textiles at the local markets. Lastly, we recommend hiring a local guide who can provide you with a deeper understanding of the city's rich history and culture.
