5-Day Itinerary for Manglore in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Panambur Beach
    20 minutes (10 km) from Mangalore city centre

    In the morning, soak up the sun on the pristine beach or take a swim in the Arabian Sea. Visit the Tannirbhavi Beach for lunch and try some delicious seafood. In the afternoon, take a stroll along the beach and watch the sunset over the sea. In the evening, visit the Gurupura river mouth and watch the fishermen at work.

  2. Day 2: Kudroli Gokarnath Temple
    15 minutes (6 km) from Panambur Beach

    In the morning, visit the Kudroli Gokarnath Temple, a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Shiva which hosts colorful and vibrant festivities. Have lunch at the temple canteen and try some of the traditional South Indian dishes. In the afternoon, take a walk around Kadri Manjunath Temple and admire the stunning architecture of this ancient temple. In the evening, catch the sunset at the Tannirbhavi Beach.

  3. Day 3: Ullal Beach
    30 minutes (15 km) from Kudroli Gokarnath Temple

    In the morning, head to Ullal Beach, a serene and secluded beach known for its calm waters. Have lunch at one of the seafood shacks by the beach. In the afternoon, take a short boat ride to the St. Mary's island and explore the unique hexagonal rock formations. In the evening, head to the nearby Malpe Beach and watch the fishermen bring in their catch of the day.

  4. Day 4: Mangaladevi Temple
    40 minutes (20 km) from Ullal Beach

    In the morning, visit the Mangaladevi Temple, one of the oldest and most revered temples in Mangalore. Have breakfast at Woodlands or Diana Hotel and try some of the local delicacies. In the afternoon, visit the Sultan Battery and learn about the history of this ancient watchtower. In the evening, head to the Kadri Hill Park and take a leisurely walk amidst the lush greenery.

  5. Day 5: Pilikula Nisargadhama
    30 minutes (15 km) from Mangaladevi Temple

    In the morning, head to Pilikula Nisargadhama, an eco-educational and tourism park. Explore the botanical garden and the wildlife sanctuary. Have lunch at the park restaurant and try some of the local cuisine. In the afternoon, visit the Dr TMA Pai Planetarium and learn about the mysteries of the universe. In the evening, head to the New Mangalore Port and watch the ships sail in and out of the harbor.

Recommendations

If you have more time, consider visiting the Kateel Durga Parameshwari Temple or the Sri Krishna Temple in Udipi. For a side trip, you can visit the Bekal Fort in Kerala or the Jog Falls in Karnataka. To maximize your fun, try some of the adventure sports like parasailing, jet skiing, and kayaking at the Panambur Beach or the Malpe Beach. Don't forget to try the local Mangalorean cuisine, especially the seafood and the Mangalorean Biryani. Have a great trip!
