3-Day Relaxation Itinerary in Colombo in October 2023

  1. Day 1: Galle Face Green
    15 minutes (4.3 km) from Bandaranaike International Airport

    In the morning, take a leisurely stroll along the Galle Face Green, a popular destination for both locals and tourists. Enjoy the cool sea breeze and watch the locals fly their colorful kites. Around midday, head to The Lagoon, a seafood restaurant at the Cinnamon Grand hotel, for a delicious lunch overlooking the Indian Ocean. In the afternoon, visit the National Museum of Colombo, the largest museum in Sri Lanka, that houses many ancient artifacts and artworks.   2. Day 2: Mount Lavinia Beach
    30 minutes (10.5 km) from Galle Face Green

    Start your day with a visit to Gangaramaya Temple, a Buddhist temple renowned for its eclectic architecture. Afterward, head to Mount Lavinia Beach for a day of relaxation. Soak up the sun, take a dip in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean or enjoy a delicious seafood lunch at one of the beachside restaurants. In the evening, head to the Dutch Hospital Shopping Precinct, a historic complex turned shopping and dining venue, for a cocktail at one of the rooftop bars followed by a dinner of international cuisine at Ministry of Crab.

  3. Day 3: Diyatha Uyana

Afterward, head to Diyatha Uyana, a waterfront park with a variety of activities, including paddle boating, cycling, and mini-golf. In the evening, head to the Ministry of Crab, a famous seafood restaurant, and enjoy a delicious dinner.

If you're looking for a side trip, head to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, a sanctuary for rescued elephants that is located about 2 hours drive from Colombo. Another option is to visit the historic city of Kandy, about 3 hours drive from Colombo.
