4-Day Sandakphu Foodie Itinerary in November 2023

  1. Day 1: Manebhanjang
    Starting point

    In the morning, try some hot and delicious traditional momos and thukpa at one of the local eateries in Manebhanjang. Afterward, take a scenic trek up to Tumling, a small village in the Singalila range, and have lunch at one of the restaurants there. In the evening, warm up with a cup of local brew tea and enjoy the stunning sunset views at Tumling.

  2. Day 2: Kalapokhri
    Approximately 5-6 hours trek from Tumling

    In the morning, have a hearty breakfast at Tumling before continuing your trek to Kalapokhri. Along the way, stop by Meghma and try some local delicacies, such as yak cheese and butter tea. In Kalapokhri, indulge in some piping hot maggi noodles and soup from one of the small eateries, and enjoy the picturesque views of the Kalapokhri lake. In the evening, relax and unwind with a cup of hot chocolate or coffee.

  3. Day 3: Sandakphu

In the evening, take a stroll around the area and admire the stunning views of the surrounding peaks.

  4. Day 4: Phalut
    Approximately 6-7 hours trek from Sandakphu

    Start your day with a hearty breakfast at Sandakphu before embarking on a trek to Phalut. Along the way, stop by Gorkhey and try some local dishes, such as thenthuk and kinema. Once you reach Phalut, indulge in some hot and spicy chicken curry or vegetable stew at one of the local eateries. In the evening, relax and enjoy the breathtaking views of the Kanchenjunga and Everest peaks.

If you have extra time, you can explore the nearby villages of Rimbick and Srikhola. Also, consider taking a side trip to the beautiful Darjeeling town and enjoy some of the best tea in the world. To maximize your fun, pack some snacks and water for the trek, wear comfortable shoes, and bring warm clothing as the weather can get chilly.
