Two-Day Itinerary for Matheran in June 2023: A City Experience

  1. Day 1: Alexander Point
    1.8 km from Matheran Railway Station

    Morning: Start your day with a delicious breakfast at your hotel and then head to Alexander Point which is located on the outskirts of Matheran. The view from this point is breathtaking and will leave you awestruck. You can enjoy the cool breeze and the beautiful scenery.
    Afternoon: After spending some time at Alexander Point, you can head towards the Charlotte Lake which is just a few kilometers away. The lake is surrounded by lush greenery and is the perfect spot for a picnic lunch.
    Evening: End your day by visiting the Porcupine Point which is just a short distance from Charlotte Lake. The view of the sunset from this point is mesmerizing.

  2. Day 2: Louisa Point
    2.4 km from Alexander Point

    Morning: Start your day by visiting the Louisa Point which offers a panoramic view of the valley. You can enjoy a peaceful walk amidst the lush greenery and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
    Afternoon: After visiting Louisa Point, head towards the Echo Point which is just a few kilometers away. The echo point got its name because of the echoes that it produces. You can shout and hear your voice echoing back to you.
    Evening: End your day by visiting the Panorama Point which is just a short distance from the Echo Point. The view from this point is spectacular and is the perfect place to watch the sunset.

Recommendations

Matheran is a beautiful place to explore. If you have more time, you can visit the One Tree Hill Point and the Charlotte Lake. You can also take a toy train ride from Neral to Matheran which is a wonderful experience. Another side trip you can consider is visiting the Prabal Fort which is located near Matheran. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry a water bottle with you as you will be doing a lot of walking. Have a great trip!
