4-Day Itinerary for Goa

  1. Day 1: Visit the Basilica of Bom Jesus
    30 minutes (10.5 km) from Goa International Airport

    Start your trip in Goa by visiting the Basilica of Bom Jesus, a UNESCO World Heritage site. In the morning, take a guided tour of the church and marvel at the Baroque architecture and gilded altars. Afternoon, visit the Archaeological Museum adjacent to the basilica, which has exhibits of paintings, sculptures, and artifacts from Portuguese India. In the evening, take a stroll around the Old Goa market and buy some souvenirs.

  2. Day 2: Explore Fort Aguada and Sinquerim Beach
    30 minutes (12.5 km) from Old Goa

    In the morning, visit Fort Aguada, a 17th-century Portuguese fort overlooking the Arabian Sea. Take a walk around the fort and learn about its history. Afternoon, visit Sinquerim Beach, which is just a 5-minute drive from the fort. Relax on the beach, swim in the sea, or try water sports like parasailing or jet skiing. In the evening, have dinner at one of the beach shacks and enjoy live music.

  3. Day 3: Take a Spice Plantation Tour
    1 hour 20 minutes (40 km) from Sinquerim Beach

    Start your day by taking a guided tour of a spice plantation. Learn about the different spices grown in Goa, like cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Dudhsagar Falls, one of India's tallest waterfalls. Take a dip in the natural pool or take a jeep safari through the nearby forests. In the evening, have dinner at a local restaurant and try some traditional Goan cuisine like fish curry and rice.

  4. Day 4: Visit the Anjuna Flea Market and Chapora Fort
    1 hour 20 minutes (20 km) from Dudhsagar Falls

    In the morning, visit the Anjuna Flea Market, which takes place every Wednesday. Browse through the stalls selling clothes, jewelry, and handicrafts from all over India. Afternoon, visit the nearby Chapora Fort, which was built by the Portuguese in the 17th century. Climb up to the fort and enjoy the panoramic views of the Arabian Sea. In the evening, have a sunset dinner at one of the beach restaurants in Vagator.

Recommendations

If you have more time in Goa, consider visiting the churches of Se Cathedral and St. Francis of Assisi. You can also take a river cruise on the Mandovi River, or visit the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary to see some of India's unique bird species.
