In the afternoon, head out to Rajaji National Park, which is about an hour's drive from Haridwar. You can spot tigers, elephants and other animals on a jungle safari. Start your day early with a drive to Sonprayag, the base camp of Kedarnath. From there, embark on a 18 km trek to Kedarnath temple, situated at a height of 3,583 meters. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the mountains and the Mandakini river on your way. In the afternoon, visit the Kedarnath temple and seek blessings from Lord Shiva. In the evening, attend the evening aarti and retire early to rest.

  3. Day 3: Kedarnath

Spend the day exploring the beautiful surroundings of Kedarnath. Visit the Bhairavnath temple, located about 1 km from the Kedarnath temple. You can also trek to Vasuki Tal, a high altitude lake located about 8 km from Kedarnath. The trek is challenging, but the view of the lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains is worth it. In the evening, relax and enjoy the serene atmosphere of Kedarnath.

  4. Day 4: Haridwar
Haridwar is 95.8 miles (5 hours) from Kedarnath

Start your day early with the trek back to Sonprayag. From there, drive back to Haridwar and visit the Chandi Devi temple, situated atop the Neel Parvat hill. In the afternoon, go for a white water rafting experience in the Ganges. In the evening, take a stroll on the streets of Haridwar and sample some local street food.

  5. Day 5: Haridwar

Spend your last day in Haridwar exploring the city. Visit the Maya Devi temple, situated in the heart of the city. You can also go for a nature walk in the Rajaji National Park. In the evening, attend the Ganga Aarti ceremony at Har Ki Pauri ghat and bid adieu to the holy city of Haridwar.

Recommendations

Apart from the above itinerary, you can also consider visiting Rishikesh, which is about an hour's drive from Haridwar. You can indulge in adventure activities like bungee jumping, zip-lining and river rafting. You can also visit the Beatles Ashram, where the Beatles stayed in the late 60s. Another suggestion would be to go for a helicopter ride to Kedarnath instead of the trek, which would save time and energy.

To maximize your fun, make sure to carry comfortable shoes, warm clothes, sunscreen and insect repellent. Also, try to book your accommodation and transportation in advance to avoid last-minute hassles.
