3-Day Nature Itinerary for Pachmarhi in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Rajendra Giri Sunset Point
    15 minutes (3.2 km) from Pachmarhi town

    In the morning, start your trip with a visit to the Rajendra Giri Sunset Point. The picturesque view of the sun setting behind the Satpura Range is simply breathtaking. Spend the afternoon at the nearby Handi Khoh, a deep valley with a beautiful waterfall. Take a dip in the cool water and explore the misty caves. In the evening, head to the Pandava Caves, a group of five caves that are believed to have been built by the Pandavas during their exile. The carvings and sculptures inside the caves are awe-inspiring.

  2. Day 2: Duchess Falls

    Start your day with a visit to the Duchess Falls, a breathtaking waterfall located amidst dense forests. It is a 4 km trek from the parking area to reach the falls, but the scenic beauty of the trek makes it worth it. Spend the afternoon at the Satpura National Park, which is home to tigers, leopards, bison, and a variety of bird species. Take a jeep safari to explore the beauty of the park. In the evening, head to the Jata Shankar Caves, a cave temple that is believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva. The natural formation of the caves is a sight to behold.

  3. Day 3: Pachmarhi Biosphere Reserve
    20 minutes (7.5 km) from Pachmarhi town

    Begin your last day with a visit to the Pachmarhi Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The reserve is home to a variety of flora and fauna, including the Indian giant squirrel, barking deer, and leopards. Take a guided nature walk to explore the beauty of the reserve. Spend the afternoon at the Apsara Vihar, a beautiful natural pool surrounded by lush greenery. You can take a dip in the cool water or just relax by the pool. In the evening, head to the Bee Falls, a popular picnic spot with a cascading waterfall surrounded by dense forests.
