Morning: Reach Shidi Ghat early in the morning. Have breakfast and start the trek. The initial part of the trek is through dense forests and is quite steep. It is a good idea to take breaks and enjoy the scenery.
Afternoon: Reach Hanuman Temple and take a short break. The climb becomes a bit easier after this point. Reach the top in about 3-4 hours. The view from the top is worth the effort.
Evening: Check into a hotel in Bhimashankar and relax for the night. Explore the temple and nearby markets in the evening.
Morning: Check out from the hotel and start the day with a visit to the Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary. It is home to a variety of wildlife like leopards, wild boars, and birds like the Malabar Whistling Thrush.
Afternoon: After the wildlife sanctuary visit, head towards Khandala. You can stop at the Karla Caves for a quick visit. These are Buddhist caves carved out of a hill and are a popular tourist attraction.
Evening: Reach Khandala by evening and check into a hotel. Enjoy the sunset view from the hotel balcony or visit the nearby markets and restaurants.
If you have the time, you can explore other nearby attractions like the Rajmachi Fort, Lohagad Fort or Lonavala. These places are within a 50 km radius from Khandala. The best way to maximize your fun is to travel light and carry only essential items. Do not forget to wear comfortable trekking shoes, carry sunscreen and insect repellent.
