3-Day Cultural Immersion Itinerary for Goa in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Visit the Basilica of Bom Jesus
    30 minutes (14.2 km) from Goa International Airport

    Start your day by visiting the Basilica of Bom Jesus, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the oldest churches in India. Admire the Baroque architecture and the richly gilded altars, and pay your respects to the remains of St. Francis Xavier, housed in a silver casket.   2. Day 2: Explore Old Goa and the Shri Manguesh Temple

    Start your day by exploring Old Goa, the former colonial capital of the state. Visit the Sé Cathedral, a grand 16th-century church dedicated to St. Catherine of Alexandria, and the nearby Church of St. Francis of Assisi, which now houses a museum of Christian art. After a traditional Goan lunch, head to the Shri Manguesh Temple, a beautiful Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Admire the intricate carvings and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. In the evening, stroll along the Mandovi River and enjoy the sunset.

  3. Day 3: Visit the Palácio do Deão and the Ancestral Goa museum
    1 hour 10 minutes (27.6 km) from Colva Beach

    Start your day by visiting the Palácio do Deão, a stunning mansion built in the 18th century by a Portuguese nobleman. Take a guided tour of the palace and learn about its history and architecture. After a delicious Indo-Portuguese lunch, head to the Ancestral Goa museum, which showcases the state's rich cultural heritage. Explore the recreated Goan village, admire the artisanal handicrafts, and enjoy the live music and dance performances. In the evening, head to Colva Beach and relax on the sandy shores while enjoying the local seafood.

If you have more time, consider taking a day trip to the Dudhsagar Waterfalls, one of the tallest waterfalls in India. You can also visit the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, a paradise for birdwatchers, or take a spice plantation tour and learn about the local spices.
